Favorite Floyd Instrumentals

Post by Piper »

Just wondering what everyone's preference on this is. Not sure whether if Echoes or SOYCD should count as instrumentals or not, if they do then I'm sure they would be among the most popular favorites. For me I'd have to choose Interstellar Overdrive, tho One Of These Days is a close second.

All in their album contexts...

Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Part 9) (no words... no words)
Atom Heart Mother (masterpiece)
Terminal Frost (hello?!)
Is There Anybody Out There (soothing, beautiful... does this count?)
On The Run (evocative genius; the embodiment of paranoia)
Any Colour You Like (esp. after Us And Them)
Cluster One (post 9-11, Cornwall... it's a personal thing!)

Forgotten everything... I'll edit this la'er...

I love all the instrumentals... but a couple that aren't as popular are:

Sysyphus I-IV
The Grand Vizier's Garden Party Parts I - III
Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast
Signs of Life
Round and Round
Party Sequence
Main Theme 'More'
More Blues
Quicksilver
Heart Beat, Pig Meat
Come in Number 51, Your Time is Up
Country Song
Unknown Song
Love Scene-Version 6
Love Scene-Version 4
Absolutely Curtains

Some Rarer Ones:

Clumbung Land
THE COMMITTEE #1
THE COMMITTEE #2
MOONHEAD
FINGAL'S CAVE
IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE? Part 1 (Roger Waters Wall Demo)
YOUNG LUST Instrumental (Roger Waters Wall Demo)
RUN LIKE HELL Instrumental (Roger Waters Wall Demo)

And I think thats it... Not sure if the last 3 count since they weren't really "Pink Floyd" but I still included them. If there are any more instrumentals I don't have them. So let me know- 8) Meddler
