yes, jimmy page was severly wasted way too often, thats why sometimes stairway to heaven sounds like crap live

I couldn't agree with you more. The performance from the Montreal show is just mindblowing!In Gilmours case look at the live versions of SOYCD part 8 from 77 some really intense guitar playing that sounds almost Santana esque.
If you guys are into some improvisation, check out live versions of When You're In, good Gilmour guitar there. Also check out the versions of Money, from the 1977 tour, good improvised guitar on the middle section of the guitar solo.
