SOYCD PART 8: Guitar Question

To the guitarists out there:

I've grown very fond of this section which I believe is
the short jam section.The Electric Piano dominates
the foreground but Gilmour is adding a funky guitar track here.
I'm wondering how he achieves this? I think he's using a
pedal (Perhaps a Wah Wah) and strumming all 6 strings but
it's not "dead notes" or "power chords".So to all guitarists
out there:Can you clear up the mystery of what he's
doing to achieve this?

Yes, it sounds like he is using a Wah Wah pedal, but from what I can hear he is actually playing chords....what chords, I have no idea, but actual chords nonetheless.
