What was your first Pink Floyd album?

Post by Sydjones »

My first Pink Floyd album came by surprise, I just thought that the front cover was funny. There were two business men at some studio or another shaking hands, one of the men was on fire. You should know what it was, Wish You Were Here. They had many copies of Dark Side Of The Moon, but WWH looked better (and it is) but I think that Saucerful Of Secrets beats them both, Meddle really takes home the gold though ](*,) But I listenend to it so many times when I got it, the CD actually got too hot, and melted!!! I had to get a new one!!!!!

First Album - The Wall

First Single - When the Tiger Broke Free/Bring the Boys Back Home

First CD - The Final Cut

I only mention the single, because that was actually the first PF thing I ever owned.

I bought The Wall in late 1979/early 80. It was my first PF album.

The Wall was the first one I ever sat down and listened to and was blown away by it. My Dad got WYWH in 1975 and my brother had Relics but I never really listened to them until after that amazing moment of realisation during the Wall.

My first Pink Floyd alubms on vinyl were Dark Side and Meddle. I bought them off ebay from someone over there in the UK. I won them for like 6 dollars US. When I got them it still had the Dark Side posters in it. And they were in Excellent condition, not a scratch. When I first listened to Dark Side on vinyl I was in amazement. Hearing it on CD doesn't really do it justice. Its cheating. It sounded that good on VINYL! VINYL for God's sake! It blew me away.... as for Meddle. Lets just say I past out. ;)

Wish You Were Here. The album that got me into them, however, was Animals.
