File this one in the rumours section, but there is a LOT of noise saying that Roger will be touring further afield next year. Australia is being mentioned (Visa Preferred are taking bookings on their events wait list) and in South America major newspapers in both Argentina & Chile are carrying stories about the tour . We don't want to get expectations up, so please remember, these are only a rumours at this stage. Obviously if we hear anything official we will let you know.
Finally some (possible) good news for the southern hemisphere. If Rog does come to Australia, someone will have to tell me what equipment to buy so that I can tape whatever show I go to .
If Roger does come to Oz, I might be tempted to cross the ditch and see him, with Melbourne being the most likely option. Of course, I would prefer him to come to NZ, but he never has done in the past. Did he tour Oz for "In The Flesh"?
I would love to go, but i'm not sure that Rog would come down to little old Adelaide, so I would probably have to go to Melbourne. Pat, we could meet up and have a few beers, then go to the show .
It would depend on cost, though. My friend in Melbourne told me the best tickets for Clapton were over $300, and I couldn't afford that on top of the airfare. At the moment I have got $300 saved for the Auckland Big Day Out 2007, but if Rog was a possibility I would see him instead (depending on who is on the BDO lineup).
Wouldn't it be great if Roger hooked up with the BDO tour for 2007 or 2008? After all, he has been known to play festivals, and the BDO usually has at least one oldie in the lineup (Iggy in 2006 which I didn't go to, Kraftwerk in 2004 which I did).
And Rick and Dave can come along too. The weather is good in NZ at that time of year, so they could come down, do a gig and then have a holiday with the proceeds.
Don't get to excited just yet though, as it depends on Rog, and how my bank account is looking (also on who is coming to the Big day Out 2007, as I might blow my $$$ on that).
If it all pans out it would be cool to meet up with some Floydophiles.
