I saw The Prestige a few days ago and it was really fantastic! There were so many twists in that film..And Analyse by Thom Yorke played over the outro credits!

"The Last Waltz"

absolutely brilliant,

i didnt really have a clue what this was, I had read the reviews calling it "the greatest rock movie ever made" ect and i was worried it was going to just be concert footage of a band i had never heard before but it contains interviews too.

I dont really know anything about The Band and the only song i had heard was The Weight because its on Easy Rider (great song!!) and most of the special guests playing with them were people i don't know apart from Dylan, Young, Joni, Clapton, Ringo and Ronny but i really enjoyed it and the songs are all great with a wide variety of styles.

plus i couldn't stop laughing at how wasted Neil Young looked!!! "snowblind!"

the only problem i had with it was the pizza i was eating whilst watching it tasted like utter crap but i can't really blame Scorsese for that.

Hey Tea-Set. Brilliant. You are now offcially cool.

Regarding Neil Young. He was stoned off his face when he came on stage. The story goes that he had a smear of some kind of white powder on his lip under his nose

Scorsese reportedly spent a fortune getting the video editors to clean it up from the film. By the time it was released there was no evidence of it, but I like to imagine that the looks on Rick and Robbies faces during the perfomance are either that of horror or amusement.

Man. I love the Last Waltz.

speaking of scorsese.....

went to see the Departed last night in the cinema... feckin brilliant movie!!

although it took a little getting used to the boston accents, i thought this was one of the best movies ive see this year, or the past few years.. its slick, gripping, very well paced, shocking, funny and extremly well acted... especially Leo di caprio (never thought id actual say that!)... the cast is stellar, the production top notch.....

almost too many twists, but a movie about cops, robbers and rats, youd expect that....

recommend it to anyone!!

As a Scorsese fan, I'm looking forward to seeing that.

The last film I saw was Cape Fear. I can review both the film and De Niro's performance in 3 words: the dog's bollocks.

Actually I found The Departed to be quite dissapointing. On the plus side, the acting was top notch all around, the violence is plentiful, and it has that signature touch of Scorcese. On the bad side, the plot was really dumb and somewhat confusing, but definitely not interesting. Also, it ran over 160 minutes, which is just way too long. There are many parts of this film that seem to be pure filler: it's as though Scorcese was working on an entirely different project and just randomly decided to splice the results into The Departed....which was definitely a mistake. If they'd done some plot revisions and taken away some of the cheesy, cliche'd "car explosion" sequences, it would be more watchable.

If you're expecting another Goodfella's, or even Casino, forget it.

couldnt disagree with you more Gunner :D

i judge a good movie by my reluctance to get up and go for a piss during it, let me tell you i was ready to put out the great fire of london by the end!!

this was definately better than casino, on an even par to goodfellas, and immeasurably better than gangs of new york!!

What did you guy's make of The Aviator? Thought it was quality myself and really well acted. Gained rather a lot of repsect for Leonardo as an actor after that :)

The aviator was a good film, I too had a lot of respect for Leonardo but it mostly came from Catch Me If You Can, which is another awesome movie!

Oh, I'd also reccomend Annie Hall.... a really funny movie haha oh Woody Allen

I was just watching part of "The Sure Thing" on t.v. a while ago. I like John Cusack. It looks like it's on again tomorrow, so maybe I'll catch the rest of it then.
