Where's The Strangest Place You've Listened To PF ?

Post by spitfire »

Tomorrow I am going mountain walking and will be listening to various PF music on an mp3 player.

This got me thinking, I once listened to 'Delicate Sound Of Thunder' on the summit of the highest feature in Norway (Galdhoppigen - not sure about the spelling).
Now I look back it seems strange.

So, where's the strangest place you've listened to PF ?

mwaaa haaa! Keith, your avatar is killing me.

I guess I'd have to say, the strangest place I've heard Floyd is during a dream....especially when I'm singing it myself in the dream, shouting P3D0 at passersby.

As far as listening to it consciously and intentionally, maybe on various road trips I've taken in the middle of nowhere? Nothing too outlandish there.

probably out somewhere three thousand light years from far away, looking back at the milky way as it shrinks off into the distance.

Camping on Dirk Hartog Island (literally a desert island) a few years ago, I used to just sit in the sandhills watching the water and listening to a CD of the Fillmore show from 1970. Could hardly be more contrasting as places, but it just seemed to fit.

I actually have a photo somewhere of myself sitting there wearing my Dark Side jumper, but no idea where it is.

On the approach road to the Salang Tunnel, Afghanistan while waiting for the road to be opened for the day's traffic. Salang is the highest tunnel in the world at 4300m.

I think I'm very boring person. I have no strange places where I would have been listening PF or anything else. Maybe I should say that the strangest place is dressing room in Hennes & Mauritz, but I DIDN'T listen music there... (this was a bad joke, I've been in H&M-dressing room only once and all I did was changing my clothes) Maybe the strangest place was in army, when I'd listened On The Run, friends said "Man, YOU are listening something very heavy?!" Those were the days

Does anyone here think it's weird to listen to Floyd in a strip club?

I spent four years DJing at the local strip club and have the largest collection of Floyd of any DJ in town...and I've always figured that between Comfortably Numb, Cymbaline, Time, Brick One, Hey You, Nobody Home, Stay, The Final Cut and Fearless...who needs anything else for couch dance music?

I would think Shine On would be best for a strip club, it's bends are so sleazy

I suppose a hotel room in Brasilia, Brazil would have to qualify. Brasilia is a strange place. There is a reason most people don't go there unless they have to.
