Nasty question

Post by Anna-Roza »

What PF song would you have played at your funeral?
I thought about „Comfortably Numb” first (sorry, that’s a poor joke), but now I think “The Great Gig in the Sky” would be very suitable for such occasion....
On the other hand - things like "Echoes", "Set the Controls...", or some of "The Wall" fragments have also "right mood"...

I would want the Pink Floyd to come to my funeral and play The Great Gig in the Sky LIVE. Also, maybe I'd want them to play the rest of DSOTM. very appropriate record. Like that'll ever happen.

 I am only 14 and I am talking about my funeral already!! How depressing.

Yes, but if you want Pink Floyd still to be able to play on it, I am afraid you can't wait until you are 90 years old...

Sorry, of course I hope we could all live 100 or more years long and listen to their music and watch them performing live (why not?)

i don't think it would be a blessing to live 100 years or longer. that would be downright depressing, in fact. i don't think most people would enjoy being old. or maybe that's just my naivete talking.

I wouldn't mind immortality if eternal youth came with it.

As for my funereal selection...hmmm...Free Four comes to mind...as does Wot's...uh, the Deal?

Seeing that Im closer to that great gig in the sky (or more like down stairs where its warm) I would probably have pigs on the wing - the complete version with snowy's solo through the middle..

Hmm, for me it would be Time if i accompished little, Great Gig In The Sky if i lived a full life or Wish You Were Here

Why would anyone want to live forever, you outlive your grandkids and stuff (bit depressing that) and ultimatly you have to cope with more death than you really should have to.

I seem to have a block with this question.

Maybe Wish You Were Here? Pigs on the Wing 1 & 2? Jugband Blues?

Embryo would be a good ironic one.

I think 'When The Tigers Broke Free' sounds the most funereal, but I don't think I would like it played at my funeral. Great Gig is an excellent, if slightly obvious choice. I will need to apply more thought to this one.
