Trying to keep away from the DVD Chapter Skip Button Tonight

Post by bmet »

I have just purchased Roger Water's"The Wall" Berlin 1990 DVD.
I will try very hard to make it through the Sinead O'Connor
and the "sickening" Cindi Lauper/Thomas Dolby segments without
cringing.

I sometimes wonder what would have happened if there had been
no MLOR album and no PF tours in '87 & '88.Would Roger have
still needed guest singers in '90?

Back in the pipeline I go.

Yes...I think he would have.

The point, Roger stated at the time, was to do a show using some of the greatest artists of the past and present.

Plus...by bringing in The Scorpions, you bring in fans of The Scorpions who might not otherwise have come to the show...ditto bringing in Joni Mitchell, Sinead O'Connor, Cyndi Lauper...et cetera.

I wouldn't go so far as to call them artists, let alone great artists, but they were popular musicians in 1990.

I guess it depends on what you consider "great."

Okay,..Got to admit...That I'm alittle bit confused.......
Sorry! Been listening to "Dogs" too much!

Okay,I watched the whole thing through without jumping Chapters.
As an entire presentation it is fantastic! I don't think you'll ever see
a release of the 1980 U.K. footage. There is just far too much more
to see at the Berlin show. The wall is higher and the props are
bigger (Love that giant pig!).

I guess I can withstand the overacting of Cindy Lauper,Jerry Hall,
and Ute (as the wife) a little bit!
