"Sysyphus" Sheet Music

Post by mhspiper »

Does anybody know where I could get a hold of a copy of the sheet music to "Sysyphus" for the piano? I've got a performance coming up in May, and this is one song that I'd definitely like to be able to play at that time. Any help would be very much appreciated :)

As far as I know, a transcription has never been published.

Perhaps there is a MIDI file which can be converted into a score?

I didn't think it would have official sheet music available - outside of Pink Floyd fans, this is not a well known piece...I've been waiting for someone to answer this thread.

One of the people in my band have the Guitar Pro software on their computer, so I'll see if he can get it for me. Thanks for pointing that out!

Don't waste your time on that GuitarPro file, it's nothing but some of the organ chords. :?

I could work out the main theme for you, but not part 2, the piano solo.

NEVER use Guitar Pro for notation! It is enharmonic.

my breakfast, I really would appreciate it if you would work out the Main Theme for me. Even if I can't figure out the piano solo, I could probably pull off some kind of neat arrangement. If you would do that, I'd really appreciate it :)

Yes I've noticed that too, it truly is a huge headache with its enharmonic bitchyness. You can't even do double sharps or double flats.

It is ridiculous! It's totally full of D#s and weird things like that.

This is a piece that I have always wanted to learn how to play. For years, I have wanted to take the time to transcribe it. So I finally did. I was really hoping someone else would do this before me, but either way, there is now a publicly available score for Sysyphus Part 2 on the internet in Musescore. I don't believe you can download from MuseScore without a subscription (I don't have one - you can upload for free), so I might paste a PDF of the sheet music on a different site if there is any requests for that.

I feel pretty good about this transcription - I gave myself a 95% on it. I didn't bother transcribing the "madness" part of the score, I figured I'd leave that up to the performer's interpretation.

Here is the link to the MuseScore score:
