Plays the animals

Post by Alternative 4 »

This is a top notch recording the versions of the songs (i havent got i all yet) especially SOYCD are cool. I like nicks drumming on dogs, better than the album (but them look at pompeii it usually is). The laughing during have a cigar sounds almsot like david and roger are having fun. One question though does snowy white play the solo on POTWpt2? or is it david?

It is an amazing ROIO. One of my top favorites. Heck, 1977 was my favorite Pink Floyd tour.

I am pretty sure Snowy is.

Im downloading it off winmx (plays the animals) and the 8track version of potw is also on there. I dont know if i like it, it might grow on me i think it takes something away from the tone of the album a bit.

I'v a;ways wondered who played what on the 77 tour.I had Snowy down as playing the POTW solo just because he did in the studio aswell but i'd asumed Gilmour took the lead on all the other tracks although I think the solo he gave to Tm Rnwick on the DB tour showed he doesnt have an ego about it so I could be wrong.

77 is my favourite tour aswell, I think people underestimate how much alot of the tracks were altered live beyond just playing solo's slighty differently.

Sheep - A great desending keyboard ending from Rick.
POTW 2 - Extra guitar solo based on the 8 track.
Pigs (3DC) - Extra guitar solo added in the middle and extended jam at the end.
WYWH - Exatra eletric guitar intro and solo plus 2nd verse repeated.
SOYCD(6-9) - Extra guitar effects at the start, greatly extended duel soloing in part 8 plus extra guitar and piano in part 9.

Plays the Animals-Pigs 3 Different Ones

Post by bmet »

I too think it's the best recording of the '77 tour.I've just
finished listening to it again. It has great bottom end! - particularly
in the final middle solo section of Pigs-3 different ones.
It must have been a good concert as Roger never shouts out a number
before the final guitar solo.
Quite interesting also is the inclusion of Careful with that Axe,Eugene
as an Encore (Last known performance).
I wonder why they included it?

Just wish they had opted to visually record It!!!!!!!!

Oh well!

A change is as good as a rest - the blues track at the end of the 6th July concert is also a killer. - its also snowy again on lead.

That would have been something amusing to see on video!
As you may know, the crew began disassembling the stage while
Snowy,Nick,Roger & Rick performed (Dave walk off stage to the
mixing booth).Snowy played for a bit then walked off, they disconnected
Rick and physically carried him offstage, and Roger and Nick were
left on stage at the end (Nick,I was told, had one bass drum and a snare
drum left to play).
