My mate asked me to post this....So here goes........Roger Waters done to PF what Yoko Ono done to the Beatles???? My mate warned me I was about to get burnt with this thread...OK..Teach me..I want to learn..(Even if its the hard way!!!)

Well first of all Yoko Ono was an outside force, she was never part of the Beatles.. Roger Waters was the PF frontman till '83. And by the time Yoko came around the Beatles were already showing signs of breaking up.

Roger Waters was with Pink Floyd since their beginning.

Yoko Ono did not write any, let alone the majority of, Beatles songs.
Roger Waters wrote the majority of Pink Floyd songs.

Yoko Ono did not sing all of a single Beatles song.
Roger Waters has sang more Pink Floyd songs than anyone else.

Yoko Ono was not even a member of The Beatles.

If you're talking about Roger, that's kind of the long and short of it. He felt that PF's creativity was spent and that it was time to put the name to rest. PF was just not working as a group anymore by '83. Some will say this was apathy on the part of the rest of the group and others will say that Roger had become so much of a control freak that the others couldn't take him anymore.

Some others on this board can elaborate on this better than I can - RPITI, that's your cue
