I agree with ESLAFTK2112 about Al Gore: He is a bloated, junk-science pimp - and total hypocrite (several mansions, SUVs, lear jets, mega-stocks in petroleum companies - great for the environment, eh?). He's all about "Money". But, enough about that gas bag (speaking of pollutants)... This is the first I've heard of Roger being added to this lineup. With acts like the RHCPs, The Police, and Roger Waters, there's NO way an event like this could be held anywhere near a White House lawn - if that's one of the proposed sites. Did I miss something there?

Now it's clear that Pink Floyd will not be reuniting for this one. Roger said in a Rolling Stone interview last week, that the others weren't interested in playing at this concert. Well, it's a good thing that Roger is on the bill, I'm sure that we will hear at least one Pink Floyd classic at Giants Stadium where the US concert is taking place.

It was confirmed June 12th, 2005, just a little over two weeks before Live 8 took place (had to Google it, 'cause I didn't remember the date).cRaB wrote:when was the PF special reunion for live8 announced and confirmed?
If I remember about 3-4 weeks before the event...
Before that day it was constantly denied.
i'm still hoping
You're right, there's plenty of time left. Now if only that news article about Led Zeppelin playing Live Earth would turn out to be true...
Also 7.7.07 is the one year anniversary of Syd's death. So I would imagine that since there's a huge worldwide event that day, the guys would get onstage in New York to pay their tribute to Syd.
