How much is it i-/legal to share Rick's Wet Dream album? I think many fans didn't hear it and it's out of pring for many years. I have my own copy from ebay but looking like russian piracy.
can anyone make a vinyl transfer in 96/24?

when asked questions like this i always go to the most anal of sharing sites.. DIME.... this is their policy on whats is allowed to be shared and whats not....
No torrent may distribute any official material. That term includes:
1. All official releases, in print or out of print, whether sold world-wide or only in certain areas;
2. Upcoming official releases announced by the artist or the label;
3.The audio of performances released officially on VHS, Laserdisc, or DVD videos - even if the recording is from a different source from that of the officially available material;
4. Alternate recording sources of any officially released performance, unless the artist's published policy for trading permits contnuing to trade them after another capture has been released officially;
5. Video material whose audio portion has officially released content (for one example, music videos: even if the video footage is unreleased, almost all of them use an edit of the official audio for their sound);
6. Remixes, remasters, alternate mixes, and alternate edits of any official material;
7. Older official material that may have lapsed into public domain just by passage of time: copyright durations vary from country to country and are frequently extended by new legislation, so on DIME the only safe rule is once official, forever official;
8. Recordings (audio or video) of shows produced by or for subscription cable/satellite/broadcast channels or premium cable/satellite channels (such as, but not limited to, HBO, Showtime, XM Radio, SIRIUS, Canal+, Wowow, Mezzo, Premiere, SkyPerfecTV, or Globosat -- such stations assert and enforce copyrights on all their content, even that which airs unencrypted): in the absence of contrary evidence, we will infer that broadcast material was produced for the channel that aired it;
9. Material that has aired in a pay-per-view event on any station or channel, even if recorded from another source;
10. Content transmitted to or replayed for a paying audience at another time or another location than those of the live performance;
11. Material distributed to fan club members as part of the membership package included in their club dues;
12. A bonus included with the purchase of another legitimately authorized offering, such as with another recording, a magazine, a book, or a concert ticket;
13. So called "bastard" mixes and DJ sets.
but at the end of the day, what goes up onto the tracker is Keiths decision.....

All these copyright law authors want is money. Blah-blah-blah, but ain't it a shame prices of CD's are terribly high here? Even pirate versions won't cost less than 100 EEK (~ 4 pounds). So I wanna tell them to shut the fuck up! Besides, how's anyone supposed to get a copy of something out of print AND unavailable anywhere but such file-sharing networks?

I have it on vinyl, but I don't quite see why you'd want to lift it for non-audiophile reasons when the CD exists.
It's rather easy to find on the internet, and it's not exactly like you're taking money from Rick or even the record company and copyright holders (since the songs are simply not available anywhere).
I love the album. To me, it sounds more like On An Island than "David Gilmour" or "About Face", albiet using 1978 engineering and none of that reverb.
It's on the top tier of Floyd solo albums to me, alongside Amused To Death, About Face (don't laugh), and Barrett.

CD is much worse than not-too-much-scratched LP, so that's the reason why I want 96/24 version. 96/16 could be enough because you won't get more dynamics from lpTenniru wrote:I have it on vinyl, but I don't quite see why you'd want to lift it for non-audiophile reasons when the CD exists.
