Hi all
I can't wait for the Syd Barrett tribute concert at the Barbican tomorrow - 10th May

I have a friend who knows someone at the venue, and he has told me who the special guests are.

There will be at least 2 members of Pink Floyd playing!!!
Rog Waters is in town anyway for the Earls Court show so.....???!!?

Plus Damon Albarn will be there

Plus... members of a famous Canadian folk dynasty....???

mmmm..

I wish I could, my dear! I live in the States, and it's not as if I can hop on the Concorde this evening! If I were to go, a friend of mine has tickets center front, only a few rows back, and he cannot attend. If this is true, I shall be slitting my wrists on Friday! :lol:

I have communicated with 3 people that I know are going, and I think the best that will happen are pictures on cell phones. They will not allow any recording equipment or cameras, from what I understand. It may be possible that some AV recording will be made of the event and sold. I don't know. :(

Mhspiper, I'll have the Concorde stop by on your eiderdown and pick you up. Be ready by 10:00 tonight! :wink:

Somebody's got to be able to get equipment in. They were able to get recorders into all kinds of concerts, why not this one?

I'll be ready to go at 10. Anything in particular you want me to bring along? :)

'2 members of Pink Floyd playing' ?! This might turn out to be a decent tribute after all! Can't wait to read firsthand accounts afterwards. Only wish I could be there myself. :roll:

Guess it will Waters and Mason that will be there playing shine on... or something like that

As for the guests:
Damon Albarn though... Haven't heard his latest project, but I think Blur were a fairly poor band for most of their career and since then he's just been getting further and further stuck up his own arse.

As for Andy Bell... Well i don't reckon Oasis haven't released a good album since Morning Glory (or even an album's worth of good songs since then) :)

Actually looked a nice enough set. Good to see the floyd members turning up and Robyn Hitchcock etc
