Yes, it would take an effort on their part to prepare. I was thinking back to live 8. When it was announced that they were all going to do a set. it caused a world wide buzz. Sure your always going to have people who react with, "Ah f*&k the buggers", who were disappointed amd became jaded when they split. I remember alot of people who felt the same way when the Beatles split. "I'll go see um when hell freezes over" they would reply when asked. What if they reunite?
I believe in magic, I still hold on to the hope, that they not just simply appear together, but collaborate on a new album and tour. Hopeless I know, but that's how I feel. I felt the same way about the Beatles until John was murdered.

I thought he said "it seemed apposite" meaning suitable, but it's not really clear.

I think the most important point is, that they were all there to pay respect to there old friend, the fact they all played together or not, is not really important.this was not about Pink Floyd, it was about Syd!!

Does anyone know the set list?

I managed to get a ticket in the front row of this gig. I will try and add some extra news to the ones which have already been discussed. When Roger came on he had a couple of heckles from one or two "Syd" fans. Someone else rebuked with a comment like, "Shut up, some of us want to hear him play".
Someone also shouted, "Where are Pink Floyd" as Roger was preparing to play. He replied, "Later". So he obviously was aware that the other 3 would play a set later on and that he would not be joining them. Roger has made is know that he would like to play with the others again and so I can only conclude that it was David's decision not to play as a four piece - perhaps he wanted to show that the post 1985 PF group is valid or more probably he wanted to keep the show focused on Syd and not a full PF re-union.
Interestingly, although Joe Boyd announced the final act as Pink Floyd, they were billed as David, Nick and Rick - more evidence that the show was not to be remembered as a PF re-union.

Maybe they didn't want this event to be remembered as a pink Floyd reunion but a syd tribute show...

why would "syd-fans" heckle Waters,,? what have i missed ?

Some people blame him (and other members of PF) for contributing to Syd's breakdown. The couple who shouted out probably belong to this camp. They were soon shut up, mind and Roger got on with his performance

It must have been great hearing some of those great songs again, did anyone who was there notice if there were any cameras? for a DVD release, i can't think that such a unique event would not be filmed.

Interesting to see Damon Albarn there, i thought his former band mate Graham Coxon was more of a Syd fan, why was he not invited?.
