I have to say the Prism effect has to be one of the most amazing effects I have seen at a concert in years...

Less pyro in this show? Last year at the Tweeter Center, one of the Dark Side explosive effects sent flaming shrapnel over the drummer's shoulder. He spent the rest of the song looking over at the back of the stage and waiting to duck.

Almost as good as the pig dying at Sullivan Stadium in '88 and the techie hanging upside down on the cable to pull it back in. Gilmour never took his eyes off the guy.

When I saw The Dark Side show in Budapest, the pyrotechnics were so strong that I could have barely stood the heat up in the second row. I remember wondering how Mr. Fairweather Low stood it, being just a couple of feet away.

I wrote more about the prism in the Hollywood Bowl thread...I hope someone gets a good pic of what it looks like when the lasers almost hit you in the face

Also at the Bowl the pig seemed to be getting dangerously close to the pyro at the top of the stage! I think the pig was at least twice as big this time too but I'll have to check my pix. I noticed the picture of it posted above doesn't have the writing on it yet...Roger said "thanks" to someone in LA who apparently painted it...I guess the writing is added at the last minute(?)....

Thanks Keith! That's the picture I wanted to take if my camera had still been working!! I'd never seen a laser with different colors in it before that. For those who weren't there, that thin rainbow "wall" of color swept across the audience's faces every time the prism turned completely around. At the Hollywood Bowl it swept across right on the last note of DSOTM Also I'd never been at a show before this where the lasers hit the audience either, so maybe those new types of lasers they're using are safer.

I had no idea about the laser prism when I went to see Waters. I stood in the second row and somewhere on Brain Damage (I think) I hear the crowd cheering and I didn't know what happened. Then someone told me to look up, so I did and I was standing right under the bloody thing! I took me almost a minute to figure out what it was at all.

hehe same here. i was too standing directly under the prism!
