I dunno moom. That song, The Trial and Waiting for the Worms (and most of side 4 for that matter) just turn my stomach. There were so many better tunes on that album that should have ranked #1 as singles. That's just MO.

How about Nobody Home? Wasn't that a wonderful tribute (in part) to Syd. I think it is a beautiful song!

"I've got a strong urge to fly, but I've got nowhere to fly to."
Pretty much hits it dead on, doesn't it?

You know what? When someone like Syd comes along who is the founder of a group, a backbone of the operation, creative force, encourager to friends and band mates to follow their hearts and their dreams, and a powerful charismatic force that leads them into stardom, paving the way for them all to grow creatively in their own ways and branch out, it is indeed true that if it hadn't been for Syd they would not exist. I hope that personally, I can aspire to just one tenth of that greatness!

But you hate Roger Waters' singing voice, so you mustn't like listening to that song!Syd'sSexy wrote:Yes it is! In fact, I shall put in on right now.![]()

That's like seeing a really funny comedian on TV and saying "I hope that I am a tenth as funny as that guy one day!" Then one day, you wake up, and you are Carrot Top!moom wrote:That's one of my goals in my music careerbpmolder wrote: I hope that personally, I can aspire to just one tenth of that greatness!

I wouldn't say "I hate his voice." There are many songs in which his singing voice is quite appealing, especially pre-Wall recordings. Here's one example...as soon as Fletcher's Memorial Home comes on, I HAVE to forward to the next track, as with many of the songs on The Wall, especially side 4.PublicImage wrote:But you hate Roger Waters' singing voice, so you mustn't like listening to that song!

Yeah, he gets that "croaky" tone sometimes that can be a little grating on one's nerves. That's why I prefer his mellow, whispery voice that he sings in now.Syd'sSexy wrote:I wouldn't say "I hate his voice."
