Thank you.

The easiest way to tell is to consult the Pink Floyd Encyclopedia by Vernon Fitch.hometime wrote:In which PF songs does D. Gilmour play bass? And how do you find out?

If that's not immediately an option, consider this:
If the bassline is melodic and relatively complex, it's Gilmour; if it's basic and rythmic, it's Waters.

According to The Rough Guide To Pink Floyd by Toby Manning, Gilmour played bass on " Animals " ( Pigs and Sheep ). When I saw Floyd perform " Animals ", Waters played electric rhythm guitar and Snowy White played bass.

Yeah...you SAW them.bassplayerforpulse wrote:According to The Rough Guide To Pink Floyd by Toby Manning, Gilmour played bass on " Animals " ( Pigs and Sheep ). When I saw Floyd perform " Animals ", Waters played electric rhythm guitar and Snowy White played bass.
That was LIVE.
In the STUDIO, Gilmour played the bass and the only thing Snowy White did was a guitar solo for Pigs On The Wing that originally only showed up on the eight-track release.
There's a subtle difference between a studio recording and a live performance.

During the live performances Waters played rhythm because he did not play on the album and probably did not know the parts or cared to learn them, so Snowy played bass. eight-track release.

Some of the bass parts are very complicated, so Dave played bass on the album.

My bad, dude. The problem with text is that it lacks inflection, so it's sometimes hard to get exactly what a person's saying.bassplayerforpulse wrote:Gilmour playing bass on " Animals " is the point I'm making. You're absolutely right. I should have been more specific.mosespa wrote:My bad, dude.
