theres a version of it on an early Stones album
and PigPen sings it during a 1969 Dead show at the Fillmore East (probably elsewhere as well but thats the one Ive heard)
in 1966 and maybe even as a member of the 64-5 uptown jug band
the 69 show was a early and late show affair
the dead opened for janis
and bill gramham gave the dead a 1 hr time limit
janis remarked that may be she should have opened for them !!
