Why is it all this footage - a lot shot on consumer equipment - looks better than what was professionally released...the films don't even flicker and didn't even have to be superimposed....

Ah it was the fashion at the time. Though i do agree about Gilmour's hair - it's probably a good thing that he's going bald now.

nope apart from Great Gig on the original DSOT release and some footage used in a short trailer at the end of DSOT on VHS.Has the Versailles ProShot even been published in its entirety?
