Korn covers Brick in the wall Live at Montreux 2004

Post by kornfannatic2008 »

The dvd is amazing. I saw it the other day in my bosses office. The Brick and Metallica covers just put it over the top. they really outdid it on this one. Wish I could have been there. Maybe a collabo with Roger Waters in the future?!?!?!?

I hated Korn's version of Brick in the Wall. Dunno if it's just b/c it's a band that had its fanbase in 12-14 year olds doing Pink Floyd that bothers me or if it's b/c the music sucks or if it's both.

I didn't care for their version at all. I rank it slightly above the Scissor Sisters' version of Comfortably Numb.

Both Scissor Sisters and Korn should be in prison for what they did covering Pink Floyd.

They actually did a couple of covers and five or six albums of their own stuff. They have some great tunes if you like that kind of music but I generally don't like them.

I don't care for Korn either. I absolutely hate that Twisted Transistor song, or whatever the hell it is. I had the misfortune of hearing it every morning on the radio for about 4 straight weeks. ARGH!!!!! That's just one example of a whole littany of crummy songs, IMO.

I can dig a few of Korn's original songs...but they're version of Bricks bugs me. Of all the songs for them to pick to cover, they go for the obvious. *rolls eyes*

Now, if they'd have covered Pigs (3DO,) THAT could have been cool. Or Sheep, even.

I think they would have made a much better job covering "Young Lust". They could have easily arranged it to sound like one of their trademark low/high riffs.

I think their album Freak On A Leash was pretty decent but I can't imagine, for the life of me, why they would choose ABITW for a cover. It must be one of their favorites or something. Who knows the way these things work sometimes? Pigs 3DO would have been pretty good in their style though. I could have gotten into that pretty easily maybe.

Korn's cover is rubbish.

The Scissor Sisters' version of Comfortably Numb is BRILLIANT. The best Pink Floyd cover I have ever heard, without a doubt. It is completely different to the original, which all covers should be.
