Urgent! Big Theft At City Wakes!

The Centre at St Paul's Church where they are rehearsing for The City Wakes has had a break in where they stole equipment worth over 17 000 pounds! These were purchased with the money that came in from the auction of Syd Barrett's belongings and belonged to the Cambridge art and mental health charity, Escape Artists, after a trust fund was made by the family and his sister Rosemary Breen.

What this means is that the entire City Wakes program in October is in great danger of not being held!

So if anyone knows anyone in the area who could help in some way, just by lending equipment if possible, they are grateful for any help!

This is a real shame. Hopefully they will be able to make something happen so the show can continue. If there is absolutely anyone you know or are even mildly acquainted with who can donate equipment, guitars, PAs, amps, mics, etc., please contact them ASAP because it could make a crucial difference.

I certainly hope so. If not, hopefully people who can will step up and save the day. The best a lot of us can do is spread the word to as many people as we can.
