Ron Geesin- concerts

Post by David Smith »

Dunno if this really belongs here, but is anyone going to these shows:

http://www.brain-damage.co.uk/latest/at ... -june.html

For anyone to lazy to take the link:

The annual Chelsea Festival has a very special pair of launch concerts to kick things off in style this year: Ron Geesin, the co-composer of Atom Heart Mother, will recreate Pink Floyd's iconic 1970 album - their first number one album and first Gold record.

The performances will also feature archive material from the original recording and other music by Ron Geesin, including new scores created specially for the occasion.

Ron, beavering away in his home studio, tells us that he's "nearly finished writing a new opening piece for the ten brass".

Taking place at London's Cadogan Hall on Saturday June 14th (at 7:30pm), and Sunday June 15th (at 7pm), the performances will feature Italian band Mun Floyd; a ten piece brass ensemble from the Royal College of Music; cellist Caroline Dale (who has also worked with David Gilmour); and the 40-strong chorus Canticum conducted by Mark Forkgen.

Tickets for the shows go on sale on March 31st, from the Cadogan Hall itself. Sounds a fascinating pair of shows and should be well attended - one can only speculate about who else might be seen in the vicinity of the venue!

Located in Chelsea, Cadogan Hall is fast becoming a very highly rated concert venue. Easy to get to, with good public transport links of all sorts, and providing superb acoustics, it should be the perfect place to enjoy Atom Heart Mother as you've never heard it before...

Yez...but the belated blog said that he'll BE there...not that it's certain that he'll play...
But, it would be a pleasant surprise to hear a 2008 version of the Dave middle jam.

Edit: Fed bloke said in the comments section that he will perform...

If someone will be there ...by any chance... :

RECORD IT!!!
