This first 'official' tribute to Syd Barrett is taking place from 22nd October to 1st November in Cambridge if anyone wanted to know. Should be a worthwhile visit!

I am going and I am going to the whole darn thing (Obviously not all the concerts)... Tickets are on sale now, the program is great, and the happening and having Syd's old friends telling you stories in bookstores...take a new look they, are constantly updating the site and program, and it looks more and more fabulous! I am not certain this is going to be a yearly event in fact I doubt it, so you may want to consider going now, the gala may hold some serious surprises at 50 pounds a ticket for Floyd fans.....last year was a cosy little thing, only a few of us, nothing like this, even a book is being made, so...Check the site thoroughly again:

Jazz was his big passion - he admired Thelonious Monk and Charlie Parker the most. The psychedelia thing was just his version of it.

I knew it! he was the hepster in the group, and he was the one who took the group from blues covers to these wild improvisations, too bad he didnt learn from Birds toobrief rise and fall, or maybe he did and thats why he retired so early
