Oh for cryin' out loud, I'm NOT A GUY!!!!!! I have no idea why people here think I'm a man/boy/eunuch, I can only assume it's because my writing maybe a little masculine in tone. Regardless, I'm quite positive I'm a female.

This first 'official' tribute to Syd Barrett is taking place from 22nd October to 1st November in Cambridge if anyone wanted to know. Should be a worthwhile visit!

New suit of armour, theshockofthenew ?

I am going and I am going to the whole darn thing (Obviously not all the concerts)... :D Tickets are on sale now, the program is great, and the happening and having Syd's old friends telling you stories in bookstores...take a new look they, are constantly updating the site and program, and it looks more and more fabulous! I am not certain this is going to be a yearly event in fact I doubt it, so you may want to consider going now, the gala may hold some serious surprises at 50 pounds a ticket for Floyd fans.....last year was a cosy little thing, only a few of us, nothing like this, even a book is being made, so...Check the site thoroughly again:

fascinating article Zag
SydsSister wrote:Jazz was his big passion - he admired Thelonious Monk and Charlie Parker the most. The psychedelia thing was just his version of it.
I knew it! he was the hepster in the group, and he was the one who took the group from blues covers to these wild improvisations, too bad he didnt learn from Birds toobrief rise and fall, or maybe he did and thats why he retired so early

I never heard that factoid before, in all my years of reading Floyd-literature, are we sure this isnt Daves sister writing the article?

by the way Zag where you been?

 I think we´d blame also that AMM group. "No AMM performance is ever planned; each is unique and spontaneous. The musicians vowed never to rehearse and never to discuss what they had played. The musicians tend to avoid any conventional melody, harmony or rhythm, and seek out an ensemble sound that often obscures any individual's role. It is often difficult to discern which musical instrument is making which specific sound on an AMM recording, due in part to liberal use of various extended techniques on their instruments." well, maybe she hasn´t a lot of time for reality either.
