I just don't 'get' Facebook. I kind of understand MySpace because it seems to serve some vaguely useful purpose (as well of being full of detritus), but I really don't understand what Facebook is actually for! I have an account - but I never use it. Can't really think of how I might ever want to use it!

Oh well, guess it's just me ...

Its for social networking, finding all your friends from school, your everyday life etc. and sharing photos, chatting to each other, sharing videos etc. Nice to see what people are up to you don't see too often in every day life!

Facebook is used in the US mainly by the high school and college crowd, looks like the geezers have taken over myspace.

Facebook is used by lots more people now! Started out as a university thing a couple of years ago but they opened the gates to everyone!

More people I personally know are on Facebook. I'd be afraid to sign up for Bebo in case the cops called around to the house to question me on account of my being over the age of 25.

Why are you posting this questions on this thread? Shouldn't you be speaking to Facebook?

Facebook seems to be a bit more accessible and user friendly than MySpace.

Nevermind the photos and stuff, I managed to find a friend from studies I've lost every contact with a lot of years ago via Facebook. I even thought he might be dead. So it does serve some purpose actually.

Being French, I'm happy with Facebook : I don't see my American friends quite often and we can share on our walls and keep updated :D

How can I remove the facebook notifications icon from my Blackberry? No matter how many times I check all the different facebook menu's on my blackberry, I still have 1 notification on my home screen that won't go away. Also the number is grossly inaccurate, so I just want the notifications gone without removing the facebook app. How can I do this?
