You may have noticed the site has been down for about 24 hours! The software that runs the site had been updated to the latest version and locked me out of the site and shut it down. But the good people at 1and1.co.uk have since restarted it for me.
This hasn't happened for a while since moving to the new server but had to happen sooner or later!
Well, at least it doesn't happen as often these days unlike on that other rubbish server we used to have!

Re: Server Downtime...
I didn't notice. I was away for work most of the weekend. Anyway, it seems this server is still a lot better than the old one.

The speed of the new server compensates a bit

Re: Server Downtime...
I just tried to come here to the forum and noticed the database server was down and not the entire site. Anyone noticed the forum or photo gallery not working?

Re: Server Downtime...
I think it is a little overwhelmed at present with all the web traffic it is getting! I hope I dont have to upgrade to the next server package with more server resources as that is quite expensive!!

Re: Server Downtime...
Things may be a little tempromental today with access to the server. I am messing about with it trying to improve its performance. In particular, I am trying to get the outward bound mail queue down as it has become excessive with the newsletters I have sent recently!! Probably 100,000 emails in the past week I think!!

Is it me, or did the site break down a couple of minutes ago?
