No one loves Nick Mason
?
I noticed on the current poll that no one voted on Nick Mason as their "Favourite Member of Pink Floyd"...
I felt bad for him and gave him a vote since he seems to be such a cool guy and for his "WTF happend? I met these crazy guys and now, 40 years later, I'm driving a Ferrari 250 GTO"-smile.

Maybe he comes off too much like a cocky guy in interview or something.

Nick is the guy I'd most like to hang out in a pub with.

He seems the least heavy of the guys... hell watch the Pompeii DVD, he is the least heavy. Still very outspoken.fatoldbob wrote:Nick is the guy I'd most like to hang out in a pub with.

Just for the record, I also voted Syd. He was too cool for school! As cool as a cucumber!
But I think they are/were all great. A great set of chaps in my opinion!!
Poor Nick. I think I would really enjoy having a pint with him most out of all of them. He seems pretty chilled and down to earth.

Nobody needs vote for Nick as favourite member, because everybody loves him anyway! I guess everybody here would love to have some tea and apple pie (without crust) with him!

Re: No one loves Nick Mason
When i first heard him say "i love apple pie, but no crust! (really disgusted look on his face, whilst shaking his head furiously!)" I couldnt stop laughing for ages. It was brilliantly funny, one of the funniest things i have seen!Yucateco wrote:Nobody needs vote for Nick as favourite member, because everybody loves him anyway! Id also love to have a pint with nick more than anyother member, but i voted David:(!

I think of the guys in Pink Floyd, I'd get on best on a personal level with Nick. I love his silly sense of humour and I think he'd get mine. I also agree with him about the crust on the pie - I'm 34 and I still refuse to eat my crusts. So much so that people comment on it

I think he talks a good album to be honest but i often exactly wonder what his contribution was to be honest. Interesting drum stlye yes but he lags far behind the other three guys in creating music as far as from what i can tell.

Re: No one loves Nick Mason
Well, Pink Floyd worked perfectly with Nick as the drummer and not contributing much musically. It wouldn't be the first time a band had a drummer that didn't write anything. I suspect he did more stuff behind the scenes. He seems to have been the band's unofficial archivist, with lots of photos and possibly video footage. I recall DG talking about Nick having footage of the five man Floyd backstage with Syd doing a little dance. DG also mentioned at another stage how Nick had done up a year planner like those Sasco ones you can get these days.
Re: No one loves Nick Mason
probably because he made an obscene amount of money for doing very little very poorly
