swear filter on or off?

Post by Keith Jordan »

Do we want the swear filter turning off? People must still be civil and nice to each other but perhaps you people want it off?

Then again, it is nice not seeing a load of filth all over your screen so perhaps you would want it keeping on?!?!

Personally i think it should be kept on 'cause lets not pretend it, if it was off it would be abused considerably

Well when people see 4 stars they know it's a swear word, i just think it would be akward doing a pink floyd forum that can attract both a very young or very old audience and fill it with c words

Yeah but the way i (putting myself on the line here) would steryotype is that although younger people swear all the time it's not something a pink floyd forum should be encouraging and i would think when you turn like 3o you would tend to swear a bit less and be offended by the frequence some people do it with

I'm sure these steryotpyes can be proven wrong, but swearings not really self expression i wouldn't think, people can easily express themselves without having to chuck in f words, clearly when it's on a forum and you're posting you'll have had time to consider what you've written and i'm sure in that situation we call all sub a swear word

On second thought, it probably should stay on. I'm used to people (adults) who discuss mature subject matter in the manner of Jerry Seinfeld, not Jerry Springer.

Silly me for thinking it wasn't any different outside my little bubble.

I don't think this is an issue. All of my friend swear and I swear. I am used to it. I feel like we are at school and if I swear I am "not a nice person". Some words are not as bad as others. I think its dumb. Ban me if you want to but I do.
