I don't know if anyone else does this, but thought I would start a topic about it.
Problem - You have been away from the forum and a thread has gone on for several pages and you would like to reply to various posts by quoting parts of them in your next reply.
Solution - Use the "SAVE" button instead of the SUBMIT button whilst you build your post up!
1 - Reply to the first comment you have quoted and, when you are done, press the save button in "round 1" of building up your final reply, and a draft reply is saved, but not posted to the topic.
2 - You can then go and quote someone else and respond to that. Highlight all the text in the reply box you just typed, then press the LOAD button. That will then load the previous draft you made. You can then paste your "second round" post onto the bottom of that loaded reply.
3 - Repeat point two until you are ready to post your completed reply!
4 - The press the POST button.
I have only just looked into this function of the forum. Does anyone else do this? Or do you find it easier to have two browser tabs open to have one for building your overall reply, and another for quoting others posts?
Use the SAVE button to build up multi-quoted replies

Great find and quite useful, but...
...You really are bored, bud. If it makes you feel any better, I am probably just as bored

Re: Use the SAVE button to build up multi-quoted replies
personally i find it easier to simply 'quote' one post...
and during your reply search beack through the thread, either through the pull bar section under, oir by opening the thread in another tab... and copying and pasting into your reply...
all you simply do then is change the name of the poster in the "
????
" part....

There is a 'multi-quote' button on some forums I use. The best feature ever.

1 - I don't know what you have actually done so cannot answer that.moom wrote:1 - I got messed up. Seriously. WTF am I doing wrong !?

2 - I disagree. Unless you specifically highlight a mistake, I shall leave it as it is.

Well, I save my draft, and then make another post with quote... then load the draft, and my second post gets lost. Pretty moomish

Mmmm. Perhaps my instructions were a little wrong then. I guess you would have to load your draft first, then start typing!
