Warning level

I've just updated my profile and when I went to the User Control Panel I noticed that I'm on a warning level 1. I do recall getting a warning a long time ago but I couldn't honestly remember what for. I don't mind it at all, but I just thought I could ask more about it.

How many levels are there? Do they carry any specific restrictions? Can they go down or just rise until the final banning?

3 in a week leads to an automatic ban. I thought I had cleared all the warnings, they are supposed to disappear after 7 days. I shall have a look at the database and do some editing!

EDIT: There were about 6 user accounts with warnings still attached to them. I just deleted the warnings from the database. I think there was a software issue with a previous releases of phpBB that runs this forum.

yes i noticed my warning level was gone - it seemed to hang around for longer than 7 days though - when i got it.
