I don't think a "starting point" is necessary.
We've already got a general starting point with the "concept" that we've got a "lost album" to create which fits into the Post-Syd/Pre-Meddle Psychedelic period.
All that needs to happen now is for people to start writing and recording.
I'll give a few more days for people to register whether or not they approve of me kinda taking up the reins of this one, then I'll start thinking about a deadline for everything.
Back to back to Square one.

OK, now let's get back to back to back to square one.
Just yesterday I started working on a tune inspired by the talk about the lost album from somewhere between "More" and "Atom Heart Mother". For now I think it will remain instrumental, but who knows. The working title is "The Pink Elephant".

Just remember Hudini; if you decide you'd like lyrics for it, we got people for that.

Re: Back to back to Square one.
Do you mean you have someone to record vocals?

Re: Back to back to Square one.
I've no doubt that someone out there would volunteer, if it were necessary.
I'm thinking of a May 15 deadline. Does that give everyone enough time; should the deadline be sooner?

Oh, I know that. Though the more I explore the concept of it, the more I think it won't need any lyrics.mosespa wrote:Just remember Hudini; if you decide you'd like lyrics for it, we got people for that.
The deadline's OK.

Re: Back to back to Square one.
I came up with these lyrics during my lunch break and for some reason the organ in "Cirrus Minor" kept creeping into my head along with these lines:
Forgotten Graves
A tall brown grass waves softly
Underneath an azure sky,
And everything lye's still
Except the clouds that pass me by,
Into an unkempt corner
I will gently make my way,
And lye beside the markers
Of those now forgotten graves,
All I know of her is that
She was a girl named Sage,
Did she die a smaller child?
Did she reach a ripe old age?,
Perhaps she could have been
Somebody's sister or a mother,
I wonder if she died alone
Or if she left a lover?,
And all I know of him was that
He was somebody's son,
Gone before the toddler'd
Even reached the age of one,
The dates of life and death
A simple note that reads beloved,
The only lines not bleached out
From a scorching sun above,
I sit beneath a snarled tree
Where a bird has made it's nest,
I sit and dream of those once here
Who've laid loved ones to rest,
How often did they visit them
And promise they'll be back,
Before the grass grew over
All the markers laced with cracks,
But when I die don't bury me
Beneath the city lights,
A place that's filled with dogs
Daisys, and strollerby's at night,
But find an unkempt corner where
My withered bones will lay,
Forever beside the markers
Of those now forgotten graves,
Forgotten Graves
A tall brown grass waves softly
Underneath an azure sky,
And everything lye's still
Except the clouds that pass me by,
Into an unkempt corner
I will gently make my way,
And lye beside the markers
