I've become a bit of a shoegazer in recent years.
So a lot of stuff like Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, Hammock, Hatchie, Alvvays... if it has distorted reverby guitars I am listening to it full volume.
Besides that I reckon I've got a bit of everything going on. Anything from The Cure to Taylor Swift to Brian Eno to Green Day to Arcade Fire. I don't think myself to be too picky.

Re: So What Else Do You Listen To?
Mostly the 1970s, with some late 60s... The only music I like earlier than that is jazz and classical, but because most are instrumental, I'm not good at remembering titles.
Pink Floyd
The Doors
Chicago (70s)
Supertramp
Led Zeppelin
The Rolling Stones
The Who
The Beatles
Black Sabbath
America
Steely Dan
Fleetwood Mac
Electric Light Orchestra
Santana
Curved Air
Illusion
Eagles
Van Halen (not Van Hagar)
The Stylistics
The Delfonics
The Carpenters
The Bee Gees
ABBA
Heart
Dire Straits
The Doobie Brothers
Genesis (70s)
Grand Funk Railroad
Jefferson Starship
Three Dog Night
The Moody Blues
Queen
A little bit of prog-_____ went a long way in the 70s, and lately, I prefer female singers, slower tempos, jazz chords with non-jazz rhythms.

-Roberta Flack

-Jane Relf

Re: So What Else Do You Listen To?
I lost the will of discovering new music since last year, and I'm mainly stuck in my three favorite bands, which are also the ones that first really got my attention in my teens: Pink Floyd, Genesis and King Crimson.
Most of the stuff I was discovering, or was listening as "secondary" ones through the years, finally got me bored, and only those 3 amazing ones I mentioned really thrill me. So, even if I discovered lots of new music in the past two decades, my 3 main favorite bands remained the same.

Re: So What Else Do You Listen To?
It's been an interesting year for me in terms of what I've been listening to.
Still very much a shoegazer at this point (my own music I've been releasing is reflective of that), but I had a classic "oh my God, I get it now" moment a few months ago with Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness so I've had a lot more Smashing Pumpkins in rotation.

Guys, listen to the new album by The Cure. It has 8 songs and they took 13 years to record these 8 songs, so you know a few of them are good.

What makes me laugh about The Cure is Robert Smith. At his age, still looking like he used to doesn't quite cut it anymore. I'm not going to diss the album as I've not heard it.Djgilmour wrote: Thu Nov 14, 2024 12:27 am Guys, listen to the new album by The Cure.
