Can you whisper and shout too? (If not, you can say few bad things about Bush). Then we won't need Roger, we can have our own The Wall show.simpledumbpilot wrote:I'll do it if Gilmour wont, I can play C, D and G on the guitar, theres not much else to learn after thatKeith Jordan wrote:Hahaha David Gilmour joining Roger Waters to do The Wall!

So... do we think Nick Mason will be joining old Rog on his Wall tour as the permanent drummer?

He would love to play, I dont doubt that, but I think he is simply not fit anymore to play the entire gig throughout the whole tour.

Well he would have to get down the gym and get it sorted!!
I remember reading somewhere playing drums for two hours requires the same stamina as a professional athlete or something like that. It certainly does take it out of you!

no he will just turn up and mime on a couple of songs - much as we love ol' Nick he is an old man now and out of practice - on the original wall shows there was a second drummer doing MOST of the drummingKeith Jordan wrote:So... do we think Nick Mason will be joining old Rog on his Wall tour as the permanent drummer?

This depends entirely on the drummer's style and technique. After many years of practice and developing technique, a drummer should be able to play for hours and hardly break a sweat. Its all about conserving energy. This is just taking into account the musicianship aspect of it, not the "showmanship" or "put on a show" aspect, such as waving arms and drumsticks about and twirling drumsticks, etc.Keith Jordan wrote:

But considering that Nick Mason never had much in the way of technique, I would have to agree that there is not much much hope for him as far as playing a whole tour.

I suppose Nick relies on his wrist action more than big arching arms and body movements from the likes of Keith Moon. So perhaps Nick's wrist action could be up to it!
Would it be wrong if David Gilmour turned up for Comfortably Numb solo at the O2 arena with Roger Waters given Rick Wright's death? Would that be wrong for them all to play together at Rogers show?

Nope, that would be a treat.
With all due respect to Rick, but he was never a big factor in The Wall, wasnt he?
He neither contributed much on the album, and was mearly one of the keyboard players live.
So, having Nick and Dave for this one occasion would basically be another Floyd reunion.

Re: Roger Waters The Wall Concerts in 2010 and 2011
There was some talk a while back about a company in Hamburg, Germany creating a large 400 foot wide “electronic wall” of some 12-18 metres in height which would double as a projection screen. There was an idea of recording a performance of The Wall show to a hard drive and using software to control “the wall” to present a show to people without Roger being there.
Jonathan Park, who is part of Fisher Park who has worked on Rogers shows over the years, has been very much involved in that project. Roger though the idea a good one as it would afford him the opportunity to watch the show himself for a change!
Does anybody know what became of this project or any further information about it?
When they are announced, I shall be adding details of Roger Waters 2010 Tour Dates, Venues, Tickets and info to the PFCDB.

Personally I don't see any point in bringing the Wall on tour again...
I would only go to see any of these guys again if it was with some new material... like David did some years ago with OAI.
