Re: RARE GILMORE VINYL...METAPHYSICAL
I'm usually not very picky when it comes to misspelled (sur)names, but this difference annoyes me a bit for some reason.
This usually happens to yanks where Gilmore is a common surname that they see on gas stations and represents misinterpreted english surname Gilmour.
Sometime in the dark ages there were only Gilmours, but for lazyness, wrong pronouncement, whatever, it became Gilmore when the residents of british isles sailed to occupy the newely discovered lands across the atlantic ocean.
There. Carry on...

David Gilmore (born February 5, 1964 in Cambridge, Massachusetts) is an American jazz guitarist...
I'm just wondering if it is our Pink Floyd David or not.

Re: RARE GILMORE VINYL...METAPHYSICAL
Crazy Diamond,
I checked out the listing. It is strange because it is definitely a "Dave Gilmore" listing, specifically refereed to as DG of Pink Floyd. The track listing is all Floyd and it is loosely titled after a David Gilmour song. It is listed by someone in the UK so as it seems the "Yanks" are not the only ones who don't know the difference between Gilmore and Gilmour. Due to the spelling errors and the fact that the songs are all over the place on the time line it seems to me (and this is just opinion) that it is something someone made that they wanted to make seem valuable. It may be rare because they only made five hundred copies, but it doesn't make it valuable. It just doesn't seem like anything more then a mix tape, but on vinyl. Now on the other hand apparently the record label, TRADE MARK OF QUALITY is a big bootleg company that apparently is popular with Rolling Stones fans.

I couldn't find anything about this specific album. Maybe if you dig deeper you'll find something. My initial reaction is however, that it is a fake. A well known label wouldn't make that spelling error no matter where they are from.

Re: RARE GILMORE VINYL...METAPHYSICAL
Please do not take that as offense, nobody is blaming someone else's misspelling on you. And I am glad you put this up here . But JTull has a good point there. Plus, I think true fans would be careful as to even spelling the name right. If it's misspelled, it's suspicious. The Crazy Diamond wrote:So it is good night from me..really wished I had not bothered
Oh, and could you please that year of release ?
