Roger Waters @ River Plate - largest venue of the tour?

Post by LachlanM »

So in the past few days Roger has announced that in March of next year he's taking to The Wall to River Plate stadium in Buenos Aires.
Am I the only one to be thinking about this arena? Isnt it far larger than anywheres hes played so far? In a positive tone ofcourse.
This is AC/DC playing there last year from their new dvd - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o018byLnMFM - it looks huge... Which would be amazing to see live, but it doesnt seem to have gathered as much attention as I thought it would get for something that seems to be as massive as this show might be?

Do you guys think this is going to be a special gig? Perhaps filmed again? Will he need a bigger wall to stretch that far?
Who knows, I'm probably wrong haha..

P.s cant wait for his Aussie dates next year - been checking forums ever few days for the past two years for an announcement, now its the home stretch!

He has a bigger wall! Well twice as long!

It was used in Moscow, Oslo, Copenhagen and Dusseldorf!

They have however been talking about making it twice as high as well as twice as long

Pic below from Dusseldorf:

My God that is one big wall. I hadn't really thought about the wall changing size with the different size of the various venues he has been playing. That is one rather long wall and could probably be seen from space... were it not for the fact it is indoors!

If they do go twice the height those roadies are gonna have to really put a spurt on otherwise 'the last few bricks' is going to be a long version

River stadium is not just a huge venue but also the best place in South America for a concert of this importance !

And it ended with 9 venues. As they say in Argentina "Roger is God" and they show it. It also helps that tickets are more affordable than in other venues, I know people from close countries are flying there for that reason.

There was a movement promoting a free concert on Avenida 9 de Julio, but it seems like it did not go through. If it was, it´d be total madness!

Stadium Wall does look rather good! I wonder what has happened to the projections? More added/edited? Or just same video but projected onto wall differently. Mmmm. 8-[
