Hey guys!
I wanted to share with you 2 original pieces that I have composed and recorded and possibly to get your thoughts. These pieces are in a similar vein to Weather Report-Frank Zappa-Allan Holdsworth-ELP, etc. only obviously not as good. The "Fusion Etude" in the first link below is the more polished of the 2 but with both tunes I was experimenting with nonfunctional and modal harmony.
I played keyboards and drums (first time in 5 years playing drums!) and a jazz student from a local college played fretless bass and guitar. Both tracks are somewhat rough but if you like the above mentioned artists you will probably find something to like in one of these tracks.

Reminds me a lot of Zappa yeah, and at some points have a passing resemblance to ELP's Karn Evil 9. What kind of synthesizer were you using? Sounds kinda like MIDI.

Re: Two jazz tunes that I have written
On both pieces I played on a Korg Kronos X-88, a keyboard workstation, which is probably why the keys have a "midi" quality to them. No midi quantisization was used though, I don't even know how to do that, and you can actually hear me making flubs pretty often on the improvised solos
