I saw Bowie last night in Helsinki. Third show of the tour. Wonderful!!!!
Track list (they weren't played in this order):
New Killer Star, Pablo Picasso, Never Get Old, Bring Me The Disco King & Looking For Water fron the new Reality cd.
Sunday, Heathen, Slip Away, Afraid & Cactus from Heathen.
Hallo Spaceboy & The Motel from 1. Outside.
Modern Love, Let's Dance & China Girl from Let's Dance.
+
Loving The Alien (acoustic version), Ashes To Ashes, Fantastic Voyage, Heroes, Fame, White Light White Heat, Suffragette City & Ziggy Stardust.
So it was about 50%/50% old (over 10 years old) & new material. Most old songs were arranged so that they fitted in with the newer song's style.
If Bowie gets near your town, go and get to the concert!
Oops! Forgot at least one song: I'm Afraid Of Americans
Oops 2! Under Pressure, a damn fine duet with Gail Ann Dorsey

Forgot I'm Afraid Of Americans. But I too was waiting for more from Earthling. Little Wonder would have had been great. The Let's Dance tracks had new intros, so it took a while to recognize them. And without a sax solos they sounded a bit different.mosespa wrote:Nothing from Earthling?
I'm disappointed...although the Let's Dance tracks would have made it worth the price of admission for me.

Gotta admit i didn't like earthling much, i felt some songs were really good on them (Little Wonder i guess is most obvious) but then when it was getting good he mucked about with it to much and made it crap again through to much dance experimentation
No Space Oddity, Life On Mars? or Starman? Weird

But we got Suffragette City & Ziggy Stardust. And I must say I admire Bowie, because over half of the tracks were quite new (less than 10 years old...).David Smith wrote:No Space Oddity, Life On Mars? or Starman? Weird
Imagine someone like Rolling Stones doing the same! (Well, they kinda did that with their 40 Licks tour. Only songs from their latest album - which happened to be a compilation album...)

I've just bought myself a special "tour edition" of the "Reality" album. It has a bonus DVD with the whole album performed live in London, Hammersmith, Riverside Theatre in September (the concert that was broadcasted live).
Must admit it's really good, and all the songs (even the ones I found a bit worse than the rest of the album) sound great. Even if David seems to be quite unsure how the audience would react, listening to his new songs for the first time, he still sings very well...
It's also well-directed, lots of close-ups (maybe guitarists are shown not often enough). Anyway, it's still a kind of a TV-show, without surprises and spontaneity, not a normal concert, so I wonder how good the REAL concerts were...

Well, in a very ordinary, but huge music shop.... There was like 20 copies of a normal (one or two-Cds) edition of "Reality", and the only one with DVD. The nicest thing is that it costed the same amount of money ...
And, one thing more: on the audio CD, there's a bonus track - a very interesting cover of The Kinks "Waterloo Sunset" !!!
Really worth looking for, try at on-line shops maybe!!!
