I wonder is this some sort of trick question on a mass scale?

Dunno. I know the origins of the song, and wish he'd play it in concert. It promised him such a future, & I have cared for little else of what he's done solo. But still......

Re: Which David Gilmour Song Are You?
I am definitely Fat Old Sun. What an amazing, brilliant under appreciated piece of work by the great David Gilmour. The lyrics and flow of the acoustic guitar with mellow bass and drums backing (lets not forget that Gilmour plays every instrument in this song, other than a little keyboard assistance by the great Rick Wright) , along with the cool lap steel guitar, create an awesome mood of "relaxation". The beautiful song that is perfect for a lazy summer day laying by a creek or sitting in a boat catching some fish. But, the best part of this song is the emotional, soulful solo at the end. All I can say is WOW!!!! In my opinion, THIS is Gilmour's signature solo. One reason why it may not be well known is, at least it was for me, it's a solo that you really must listen to several times before it really sets in just how incredible it is. The solo in Comfortably Numb just grabs you by the balls the first time you hear it. Fat Old Sun's solo just gets better every time you hear it. One mustn't "listen" to Pink Floyd music. They have to have the ability to "hear" their music. The layer after incredible layer of sound is other worldly. Fat Old Sun just 'ages" well...............like a fine wine.

Did anyone notice how much David loves the blue color on his solo albums?
- Blue Light
- Out of the Blue
- The Blue
David, it's time for the Blue Album!

I suppose I am "Then I Close My Eyes" - specifically the Gdańsk version.
But I will gladly take "So Far Away", "A Pocketful of Stones", and "5am"/"And Then..." if no one else wants them.
