Re: vinyl singles
Welcome aboard, interesting first post!
Had a quick look at some of the CDs here, including the Immersion sets and I think you're right. Two comments -
(a) 'Another Brick in the Wall' single edit is available as video and audio and runs to 3m20s on DVD7 in the Immersion Box ... my 7-inch single has no time listed so without playing it I cannot be sure what the original length was
(b) 'Not Now John' single edit is sort of available on disc 2 of the European limited edition remaster of the Final Cut and runs to 3m16s not the 4m12s in your list which I guess is the non-radio version as featured on the 12-inch single

I've heard rips of these on YouTube and I can promise you, you're not missing much. They're pretty awful chop jobs if I'm being honest.

Is this what you're thinking of? It has a publish date of 2011 and going off the package design it was a part of the Why Pink Floyd...? lot. I wonder why it only happened in Europe (or specifically Russia apparently)

That's the one (I think), I purchased my copy in FNAC in France and nothing on the packaging suggests Russia.

Oh well, then it doesn't count because that's an illegal release.theaussiefloydian wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 9:31 amhttps://www.discogs.com/Pink-Floyd-The- ... se/5710631

Re: vinyl singles
That version of The Final Cut is the closest thing to a perfect CD release of the album.
I always wanted to see a two-disc release, CD album as the Disc 1 and The Final Cut Video EP as the Disc 2 (DVD, or even better Blu-ray disc). I see that the CD is the 2004 edition with 13 songs (that re-release incorporated "When the Tigers Broke Free", associated non-album 7" single).
The only thing missing is "The Hero's Return (Parts 1 and 2)", which was the B-side of "Not Now John" single, extended version instead of the regular album track. It has an extra verse absent from The Final Cut album version. It can be heard here:

Thanks for posting, I have mislaid my copy of the 12-inch single and it has been a few years since I've heard the full Part 1 and Part 2 version.

I've heard that version a couple of times, but that "Jesus Christ, I might as well be dead!" never loses its edge.

Re: vinyl singles
These album-associated singles are sometimes worth collecting (also some promo releases, such as "Off The Wall"), because you get pure studio tracks with a clear and proper beginning and end. Unlike their album versions, these songs do not fade in/out from/into the previous/next track, there are no sounds effects bleeding over either. Making Pink Floyd custom playlists from either studio or live albums is painful, unless you use clean solo versions such as the one from that The Final Cut 12" single we talked about.

Re: vinyl singles
Here is another example of what I am taking about in my last message. This is an EMI one song CD single that came out in France only in 1994. It has the longer version of "Take It Back" (it runs at 7:07, the album version is 6:13), again, proper a clear beginning and end

Re: vinyl singles
I love the extended outro of that version of the song. Sure it might go on a bit longer than absolutely necessary, but it has such a nice atmosphere to it.
