RIP Sinead O'Connor
Died aged 56. Known for her performance - if you can call it that - on Rogers Berlin Wall Live. She refused to reshoot her part after the loss of sound during the main show so what you see on the show is from the rehearsal

Re: RIP Sinead O'Connor
I can remember her first appearance on Top of the Pops. Never bought her music. But admired she stood up for what she believed. And was proved right with that church!
She got so much heat and hatred compared to stuff male musicians got away with saying.
We genuinely will not see her like again. And her last few years as a person had so much heartbreak. But it seemed like a corner had been turned.

Re: RIP Sinead O'Connor
Sinéad Marie Bernadette O'Connor is an Irish singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the late 1980s with her debut album "The Lion and the Cobra". She was born on December 8, 1966 in Glenageary, County Dublin, Ireland.
O'Connor's music is best known for its emotional intensity and her unique singing voice. Her music covers a broad range of genres, including pop, rock, folk, and alternative.
She achieved worldwide success in 1990 with a new arrangement of Prince's song "Nothing Compares 2 U," which became a global hit. The music video for this song, featuring a close-up of O'Connor singing and crying, has become iconic.
Throughout her career, O'Connor has been known as much for her controversial statements and actions as for her music. Perhaps most notably, she famously ripped up a photograph of Pope John Paul II on live television during a performance on "Saturday Night Live" in 1992, a protest against child abuse in the Catholic Church.
She has released multiple albums throughout her career, and while her commercial success has fluctuated, she has maintained a dedicated fan base and her work has continued to receive critical acclaim.
O'Connor has been candid about her struggles with mental health, including her diagnoses of bipolar disorder and PTSD. She has also been open about her spiritual journey, which has included her publicly changing her religious beliefs and name multiple times. In 2017, she changed her name to Magda Davitt in order to be "free of parental curses," and in 2018, after converting to Islam, she changed it again to Shuhada Sadaqat.
