SHED SEVEN have announced they will split at the end of their current UK tour.
In an statement on the band's website today (October 25), frontman Rick Witter explained that "all of the band members fully agree that the time is right to move on".
Witter was also keen to point out the pressures the band have been under. "We feel that certain aspects of the music industry have put a strain on the recording side of things in recent years," he said. "The one thing that has remained consistent throughout has been the bands love of performing live and their ability to please the fans by giving 100% every time."
The band plan to make their last tour a ?retrospective? one, in which they will make a special effort to play "what people want to hear".
Shed Seven formed in 1991, signing to Polydor in ?94. The band had various top 30 hits, including ?Speakeasy', 'Getting Better' and ?Disco Down'.
The band's conclusive tour calls at the following venues:
Northampton Roadmender (November 20)
Cambridge Junction (24)
Dudley JB's (25)
Brighton Concorde 2 (27)
Nottingham Rock City (December 9)
Leicester University (11)
Glasgow Carling Academy (13)
Leeds Metropolitan (14)

Re: Shed Seven splitting
We were supposed to be supporting them at Liverpool a few weeks ago but our new lead guitarist isn't up to scratch yet! The other went off to uni in London. So no!rollinder wrote:Keith - are Blue monkeys going to be supporting on their final tour?
