i really like two versions of "wild horses" by the rolling stones.
the better of the two is the version by Jerry Garcia et al. off the album "breakdown"
and the other good version is by the Sundays.
another good song "the weight" by the band was covered by moe. i duinno if any of you have heard it, but they did a pretty godo job. it's live too.
and as for bad covers, there is a TERRIBLE version of "drift away" by uncle kracker that is just awful. they have been remaking all these old songs lately (pop artists that is) and they do a terrible job. the first version is always better!
okay thats enough from me!
always,
nina

That is a good one - I also I like Placebo's cover of Where is my mind by the Pixies but it not thhat different than the origanal.
Travis have done an ok cover of The Weight and a good one of Here comes the sun - also heard a very good verson of Urge for Going by them today. Haven't heard the origanal (Joni Mitchell) though.
Beatles - Twist and shout
Robert Plant - Morning Dew (Tim rose) & Song to the siren (Tim Buckley)
Tim Buckley - Dolphins (Fred Neil)
Harry Nielson Everybodies talking (Fred Neil) & Without You (badfinger)
