I give them a big 10 out of 10!
My favorite song is either Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle or Heart Shaped Box.

8 out of 10 for Bleach era, fantastic energetic album with real spirit in the playing, they certainly gave it some gusto on that one, beaten to the ground only by Mudhoney.

4 out of 10 for Nevermind era, lacklustre performance of songs with potential to be real grunge behemoths but Butch Vigs production put to much of a sheen on it and ripped the soul out.

everything else that followed generally seemed to be more of the same with the odd exception here and there, still they were in the right place at the right time I guess.

And before anyone says (as they usually do) that im just try to be cool by saying that I prefer Bleach to Nevermind I will point out that I did see them in 1990 before Nevemind was released and I was hooked straight away, you could see the potential a mile off, unfortuantely they chose to tread a path that got on my tits. Its quite common that people that were into Bleach dont care much for what followed, I guess im no exception.

They are awesome. I love all of their songs, but my two absolute favourites are Penny Royal Tea and Plateau.

Rape Me and Smells Like Teen Spirit come in close second, though.

Anywho, I rate them an 8. Their best song varies with each time I hear In Utero, but lately it's been Radio Friendly Unit Shifter.
