Yeah, really!princessDungan74D wrote:yay
whats up with with RW and Donald Duck lamps?
My thoughts:
I would like to hear them altogether on an album. I like the words, and I'm hoping that the music for future official album releases, will be a little more...just more...more complex...more. I think Roger's voice is mixed too soft on Leaving Beirut where he is telling the tale. Would like that to come out in front more. I think the women's voices are mixed too loud...wanted them more in the background.
Is it just me, or is the sound of these very evocative of mid 70s Bowie? Roger's voice, since KAOS even, but especially in ATD has had this very Bowie sound to it which is quite odd considering that Bowie was one of those to think Pink Floyd stopped existing after Syd left. So I certainly don't think any Bowie appropriation is conscious on Roger's part.
Like I said...it could be just me.
Edited to add: You're right, FlameSkyDiver...they are small files. Weird. Must be a copyright protection thing so you have to buy them.

I've just listened to it, not bad, but I'm not stunned either. The music is not bad, but the 12-minute track is only a carrier of words, I'd imagine more variety on such track, otherwise Roger can as well release it as a book. The short track I like more, but Each Small Candle and Flickering Flame both are better IMO. I'll have to read the lyrics carefully.
That's what I was afraid of. It's not so cool to sell mp3 files through internet. I, for one, don't have a credit card or a bank account so what can I do? Nothing.Pugs on the Wing wrote:Edited to add: You're right, FlameSkyDiver...they are small files. Weird. Must be a copyright protection thing so you have to buy them.

Taking a look at the .mov file in QuickTime Pro...
It's a "Streaming Track", which I guess it means it's getting its feed from the internet as opposed to just a "Sound Track" which would be embedded in the file itself.
OK, try opening up those files in a text program (like Notepad?). I'm using BBEdit. Some very interesting URLs in there...hmmmm....
