What do you'll think really drove Syd over the edge-Drugs-the pressure of having to write for the band-or was he gonna just buggerout because it was in his DNA ,or what do you think caused it.

It was the LSD, he was often described earlier as a young and very vibrant teenager

i am not sure if it was lsd. I believe he was particular to psilocybin mushrooms but he was sort of fragile (almost a child) to begin with--witness his lyrics.

yea i could see that, ive heard that alot of kids who have really overprotective parents in high school go to college and go crazy and party wayyyy too much (if thats possible) because they suddenly realize they can do whatever they want. and ive heard sometimes its really bad, so i could see that happening with syd. apparently roger had an over protective mother too

The same thing happens with preacher's kids.I went to school with a few and everyone of them were wild as hell,most would try or do anything or at least the ones I knew were.
