Wow, this is tough. I like RPITI's list. My favorite songs have always been

1. Eleanor Rigby
2. Hey Jude
3. Happiness is a Warm Gun (very underrated song)
4. Blackbird
5. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
6. Let it Be
7. All You Need is Love
8. Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da
9. Strawberry Fields Forever
10. A Day in the Life
11. Penny Lane
12. Here Comes the Sun
13. Revolution 1 (Fast)

And a song that is very good lyrically but weak musically is Rain. I think when I played it on the piano 6 years ago it sounded better than the way they recorded it. I just dont care for the way they did it.

Great song. I hated leaving it off my list, but I had to leave a lot of great McCartney tunes out in the cold.
8. Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da
This is the only song on The White Album I don't like. I just can't stand it...

I love the white album, heres my list of favorite albums, perhaps we could add this option.

1. The Beatles (White Album)
2. Sgt. Peppers
3. Magical Mystery Tour
4. Revolver
5. Abbey Road
6. Rubber Soul
7. Let it Be

and my favorite movies are A Hard Days Night, which is hilarious and Yellow Submarine, which is cool, except its not their voices, which makes me angry

1. The Beatles (White Album)
2. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
3. Magical Mystery Tour
4. Abbey Road
5. Revolver
6. Rubber Soul
7. Let It Be
8. Help!

I don't care for much of their stuff before Help!, and even a few songs on Help! are pretty cruddy IMO.

I think the top five are albums everyone must have. They're brilliant. The other three are also very good.

I dont think I could pick one song to say it is my favourite. They have such a wide and varies back catalogue! I love while my guitar gently weeps and blackbird. Yesterday is beautiful in terms of sound and personal lyrically. I dont know... :)

My other group.

Favourite albums are Revolver and Abbey Road, deafinitely, closely followed by The Beatles, Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Rubber Soul. The first five albums are great, too - particularly A Hard Day's Night and Help!. Let It Be is bordering on Junk, though. Pity they didn't go out (release date-wise) on Abbey Road. The End.

Favourite songs? Phew. 'In My Life', 'Penny Lane', 'Dear Prudence', 'And Your Bird Can Sing', 'You Won't See Me', 'Paperback Writer, 'Hey Jude'... so many. Wonderful music.

i have a hard enough time picking my favorite Floyd album or song. But the Beatles??? No way!! I grew up with those guys. I would spend my nights listening to Cousin Brucie on WABC radio in NY on my little transistor radio under my pillow waiting for the next Beatles song.

So let me end this by saying:
1. I love all beatles stuff (virtually, except a few throwaways--tho' I do like Revolution #9--"#9....#9...." so beautifully Beeb sounding!
2. Ringo was a GREAT DRUMMER--and i want no guff on this!
3.since we can have no rog v dave bashing, I will just say that lennon blows McCartney out of the water (as does Harrison)! I do love a lot of Paul's song tho'

Hey Jude still moves me to tears
Tomorrow Never Knows is a perfect song
You Know My Name (Look Up The Number) is a lot of fun to listen to
I Am The Walrus
Strawberry Fields
Penny Lane
Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds
Love You To
Helter Skelter (irrefutable evidence that it was The Beatles who invented Heavy Metal)
Let It Be
Baby You're A Rich Man
and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on...

Here's a question that I find equally interesting...

What Are Your Favorite Rutles Songs?
