A Proposal

Post by bmet »

I make a proposal to Roger,Rick,Dave & Nick.

In these dark and uncertain times of war and strife,I think you can make
a huge difference to the world by putting aside your differences and
re-uniting in the true sense of friendship, comradery, and yes....brotherly
love that you once shared.Show the world that it's still possible!

And have a special concert for release on DVD
You don't have to perform alot of stuff - just DSOTM,WYWH,Animals,
and Echoesand One of these Days

and maybe Careful with that Axe,Eugene if Roger's voice is able..but that's
allokay maybe Saucerful and Set The Controls too
please! -(please to sound like someone on his knees pleading.).

i agree, and thats a pretty demanding setlist if you ask me, especially the way they did those live, especially animals with the extended solos and all, only phish or maybe springsteen from the 70s could pull off that. i read somewhere that bruce would give 5+ hour concerts in the 70s, thats intense

They wouldn't necessarily have to perform all the songs at once, nor have
an audience in attendance.Just set up a stage somewhere, with all the necessary stage elements we know and love, and perform in front of the
cameras.(recording for posterity the performance).Perhaps a worldwide
broadcast over several nights! Then the standard 3 part DVD release!
That's all I Want. PPPPPLLLLLEEEEEAAAAASSSSEEEEE!!!!!!!

You're not asking for that much, no matter what everyone else says

Maybe they will ask the audience to bring their pets on stage for a 3 hour version of Seamus :)

You know...even if it did happen, Gilmour is so...how shall I say...rotund...and while the other guys may be aging better than Gilmour, it would still be kind of sad to see these guys that we all think of circa Pompeii looking like our parents onstage jamming.

Sure, Roger's ITF DVD didn't give that feeling...he had a few young guns in the band with him. Imagine if every person on that stage were around 60.

There are plenty of VOIO's going around that show the band in their youth and heyday. Pompeii is about to get an official DVD release (I have it on VCD) and there is a video collection floating around on ebay that seems to have pretty much every phase of the band represented in some form or another.

If you really want to see live footage that you haven't seen before that's not Pompeii, Delicate Sound Of Thunder or PULSE...then simply USE YOUR SEARCH ENGINE AND FIND IT.

It's out there...all you have to do is look for it.

I recommend using metacrawler (thanks, R.PITI 8) )

No problem, Mos. But I haven't used Metacrawler in a while because of Google.com. You should try it out sometime. The image and news searches Google has are especially cool.

I already have all the video footage you have mentioned, but their is
a HUGE void between DSOTM and Animals where nothing was done!
It is regrettable that the members are entering their autumn years
(You are slipping into the "Too old for Rock n' Roll theory aren't you!!??)
That's life isn't it! But their music has stood the test of time and should
be performed for the record at least one last time!

Tommy - Did I not say Material BETWEEN DSOTM & Animals?
I did mean to include Wish You Were Here by the word
"between".
