DSOTM Video Press Kit

Post by bmet »

:P
Be on the lookout for a Video Promotional EPK (Electronic Press Kit) for the new 30th Anniversary 5.1 SACD of DSOTM.
Produced in England (From a Post House called Metropolis),it is a 25
Minute breakdown of the tracks from the album with the use of current
interviews from the band, the standard concert films we all know, and
film footage from the 1973 Superstars footage (Careful with that Axe,
Eugene & Set the Controls) cleverly edited into moments of Breathe
and Us and Them to look like they're singing those songs on film.(Actually
not too badly done I might say!).Dave gives us a demonstration of how
to start an "On the Run" Sequence using his Synthi A,"Any Colour You
Like" is used to bring Storm in to talk about The Album Cover Designs
for 1973,1993 and 2003,and alot of the ideas around each song are
explained.
Some of the interview segments are quick cuts between band members
who finish each others sentences. This is telling me that perhaps alot of
interview time was taped and hopefully that might spawn perhaps a
decent docuementary on the band or the album (A Classic Albums
Show perhaps!!!???).
I would think this would be eventually available on MTV or Muchmusic
in North America.I'm sure you'll see it in th U.K. and Europe as well.
It is for promotion obviously!

This is truly an enjoy to watch and listen to! Since it is streamin video though, has anyone got any idea how this can be saved locally on a HD?, since obviously 'right click' and 'save target as' doesn't work....

The EPK (Different Footage?)

Post by bmet »

Has anyone seen that extreme long shot of the band performing on
the 1973 Superstars show before? It's the one where Nick is in the center of the screen doing a drum roll. Actually a few Close-ups of Roger don't look familar to me either.(The one where Roger slides his hand up the neck of his Bass looks new!)

EPK Curiousity

Post by bmet »

Being trained in the Television Industry,I'm a bit puzzled by the lack of
a "Fill Light" on the right side of Roger Waters' face in his Interview
Segments.Usually a subject is lit with a Key Light on one side of his face,
A Fill Light (A less Harsh light) which takes away the shadow on the other
side of the face, and a back light behind the subject to separate him/her
from the background. There is no fill light on Roger. Was it Roger's
Request??!! Artistic Liscense??!!!...What??!!!
