Hmm? Most of the early Depeche Mode stuff was crap, but there's some good stuff on that one too. Shake The Disease for example, brilliant! :D

I'm not sure what my first album was, maybe Blood Sugar Sex Magic by The Red Hot Chili Peppers...

BSSM is one of those albums EVERYONE owns a copy of. Ok, it's a bit dated, but honestly i felt the album had some great stuff on it, and although i feel BTW is the best chili peppers album it was still a decent cd.

PKRL, do you still like it?

Nice initials, what does PKRL stand for?

I'm not laughing *at* you, I'm laughing *with* you.

I think RPITI should get the "made the most progress in musical appreciation" award.

I don't dislike it, haven't listened to if for ages though.

Prkl is just short for Perkele, which is Finnish curse word...

I have been thinking about this since this thread popped up, and though I'm not 100% sure, I'm thinking my first one was Beatles, either "Sgt. Pepper" or "Rubber Soul".

Not Now Neil wrote:Queen - 'The Works' 1984
GREAT album...Hammer To Fall is the reason I begged my grandparents for an electric guitar.

No shame in Queen...they were a great band who wrote great music.

Charley Pride's Greatest Hits...1972.

Yes, I was 2 years old...this is a bit of a legendary story in my family. I was old enough to express myself as far as pointing at things and indicating a desire to possess them. I wanted a Charley Pride album and apparently could differentiate between an album that was by Charley Pride and albums that were not by Charley Pride.

As far as having actual memories (since I obviously don't actually REMEMBER the above) of wanting and possessing an album...hmmm there were actually two that I obtained at the same time...I got the first Kiss album at the same time that I got Hotel California by The Eagles. Somewhere in there was Double Vision by Foreigner and Pieces Of Eight by Styx.

It was Glitter by Gary Glitter he was the main man back in 72/73 as well as Slade, TRex and the Sweet oh and pink floyd of course but I wasen't into them until the end of 73 when it was wall to wall Dark side of the moon at the youth club. I remember it well - miners strikes, 3 day week, power cuts, TV starting at 11.00 in the morning, going off at 2.30 in the afternoon and test cards until 4.00 when it all kicked off again. Scooby doo the first time around. Our first colour telly.... I could go on but I expect some of you have already dozed off.
